RCMP Cpl. Benjamin "Monty" Robinson is scheduled to be sentenced on Friday, June 1.
The date was set Wednesday morning in New Westminster.
The Mountie was found guilty of obstruction of justice last month in B.C. Supreme Court. The judge ruled he acted to mislead police when the off-duty officer drank two shots of vodka following a 2008 crash that killed a South Delta man.
Robinson was charged following the crash that killed Orion Hutchinson. The 21-year-old died after a collision between his motorcycle and Robinson's Jeep at about 10:15 p.m. on Oct. 25, 2008 at the corner of 6th Avenue and Gilchrist Drive in Tsawwassen.
During the eight-day trial the defence argued Robinson's act of drinking the vodka before returning to the scene was not intentional act but merely the actions of an alcoholic.
Justice Janice Dillon, however, found Robinson's actions deliberate and convicted the Mountie of obstruction of justice.
Robinson will be sentenced at B.C. Supreme Court in New Westminster.
