The Delta Hospice Society has welcomed Dr. Malcolm Cameron to the counseling team at the Centre for Supportive Care in Ladner.

Cameron brings a strong background in clinical counseling, clinical supervision, program development and spirituality to Delta Hospice, having supervised therapeutic and administrative staff at a professional counseling centre for 13 years.

Cameron is responsible for the society's clinical counseling services and looks forward to offering individual and group counseling within the organization's focus on family-centered care.

"We are very fortunate to have such an experienced counsellor join our team here in Delta," said executive director Nancy Macey.

"Malcolm lives in the community and brings with him the skills to help individuals and families who are living with the diagnosis of cancer or other life limiting illness, end of life or loss."

Cameron will facilitate a seven-week adult grief group that begins on Feb. 12 and runs from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on seven consecutive Wednesdays.

Cameron's approach to grief work is welcoming and affirming, gently assisting participants to meaningfully talk through their respective experiences surrounding loss and grief.

Pre-registration is required via phone or in person. Early registration is suggested.
