North Delta crime beat: $10,000 in appliances stolen from warehouse

Files of interest for this week from Delta Police.

The purpose of the Crime Beat is to educate and inform the public about some of the property crime trends occurring in North Delta and other files of interest. *March 13, 800 Block of Cliveden Avenue: A business reported the catalytic converter stolen from a vehicle. Surveillance video revealed two males exiting a white vehicle behind the building, climbing through the fence and stealing the converter. An attempt will be made to identify the vehicle in the video.

*March 14, 7000 Block of 120th Street: Report received from a parent that the front wheel of their child’s bike had been stolen when left outside the supermarket for an hour.  Police attended and security confirmed the incident and provided a grainy image of a possible suspect.

*March 15, 11900 Block of Woodridge Crescent: Complainant reported the theft of their truck from their residence. Surveillance video indicated the theft occurred at 2:30 a.m. The vehicle was located later at a location in Vancouver. Investigation to continue with examination of surveillance video.

*March 15, 8000 Block of 92nd Street: A business reported a break-in to their warehouse.   Surveillance video showed two males arriving in a white cargo van and removing the window of the bay door to gain access to the building. Two refrigerators valued at $4,500 were stolen. The suspects returned later and stole two ranges valued at $5,500. Incident still under investigation.

*March 16, North Delta Public Safety Building 11375 84th Avenue: Complainant reported they had transferred $10,700 to a bitcoin account as requested by a male identifying himself as an officer from the Crown Attorney Office of Canada before realizing the situation to be fraudulent. Complainant reported the incident to make others aware of the scam. Police discussed safety around online scams with the complainant and referred them to TransUnion/Equifax for identity protection. 

*March 16, 11000 Block of River Road: Complainant reported their vehicle rummaged through sometime during the night. Surveillance video revealed a male and female gained access to the vehicle through an unlocked door. Items stolen were a garage door opener and wall clock. Still photos of suspects disseminated for possible identification.
