Jan. 24, 11:58 a.m., location withheld: Police were dispatched to a reported missing child. Police flooded the area, and upon arrival at the residence were advised of some contributing factors to the child’s behaviour that day. Police successfully located the child unharmed, in the home’s vicinity.
Jan. 24, 7:18 p.m., 11200 block of 82 Avenue: Police conducted a traffic stop to check for sobriety, and while identifying the driver, noted an odour of liquor on their breath and an open bottle of alcohol in the front passenger area. Police read the driver the breath demand, and subsequently the Refusal Warning, before issuing them a 90-day driving prohibition and 30-day vehicle impoundment notice.
Jan. 27, 7:24 a.m., 5900 block of 104 Street: Police conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle travelling 109 km/h in a posted 60 km/h zone. Upon identifying the driver, police found them not to have a valid driver’s license. Police issued the driver violation tickets for excessive speed and no driver’s license, before towing the vehicle per the mandatory seven-day requirement for excessive speed violations.
Jan. 27, 7:40 p.m., 12100 block of 84 Avenue: Police conducted a traffic stop, and while identifying the driver, found them to be prohibited from driving. Police arrested the driver without issue, had their vehicle towed, and released them with a court appearance notice.
Jan. 28, 11:55 a.m., 11400 block of 83A Avenue: Police were dispatched to a reported break and enter to a home under construction. The property owner advised entry was gained via jumping the fence and cutting the chain-locked front door. Tools and recording equipment taken. No damage.
Jan. 28, 4:38 p.m., location withheld: Police were dispatched to a reported suicidal person outside a residence. Police located the distraught person, who was highly intoxicated and expressing suicidal ideation. Police de-escalated the situation, and apprehended the person under the Mental Health Act, and transported them to hospital to receive the care they needed.
Jan. 29, 11:26 a.m., 11900 block of 64 Avenue: Police were dispatched to a reported mischief and theft after a community mailbox was reportedly vandalized. Police confirmed entry had been gained to the mailbox, and were advised that all residents were notified for informational and fraud awareness. Police notified Canada Post. Police encourage anyone who was been a victim of mail theft to be on high alert for fraudulent activity.
