An open house is scheduled for Saturday to celebrate the recently opened Oliver Pump Station.
The public can take a tour of the facility, observe how the large drainage pump stations operate and learn how important dikes are in protecting the community.
Mayor Lois Jackson, councillors and engineering staff will be on hand.
Hot dogs and drinks will be served.
The open house runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The pump station is at 112th Street and the Boundary Bay dike in East Delta.
