BC Highway Patrol is appealing to the public for information about a head-on collision in the George Massey Tunnel on Tuesday that shut down traffic for three hours.
A white Toyota Sienna and a white Mazda 3 crashed in one of the northbound lanes which was being used as a counter-flow lane, said Cpl. Michael McLaughlin with BC Highway Patrol.
Both cars had one occupant and they were both taken to hospital with non-life-altering injuries.
Anyone who saw the collision, which happened at 3:45 p.m., or has dash-cam video of the events leading up to the collision is asked to call BC Highway Patrol as soon as possible.
BC Highway Patrol investigators can be reached at 604-526-9744 during office hours, and callers are asked to quote file 2024-1716.
