The following are some of the calls of interest the Delta police responded to in the South Delta area between Tuesday, Jan. 3 and Monday, Jan. 9:

Tsawwassen

- January 9, 8:33 a.m., 1200-block of 56th Street: Lower panel of the double doors at the rear of the dollar store were smashed, causing $300 in damage. Police attended but no entry gained to the store.

- January 9, 6:58 a.m., 1300-block of 56th Street: Clay flower pot was used to smash the glass in the rear door of the coffee shop. Attempt to pry the door open was unsuccessful. Damage to door: $300.

Ladner

- January 3, 4:35 p.m., 7900-block of Alexander Road: Video surveillance revealed a Ford pickup truck with a very large portable fuel tank in the truck bed entering the unlocked parking lot of the truck repair shop. A male was observed in the area of parked vehicles and investigation found 100 litres of gas were stolen from a car and 400 litres from a truck. Suspect's licence plate was not visible on video.

- January 4, 8:14 p.m., 5200-block of 4th Avenue: Complainant reported his trailer stolen from his friend's residence. Trailer's connecting hitch was locked. Value of trailer: $800.

- January 7, 1:57 p.m., 7200-block of Progress Way: Complainant reported observing a male steal a manhole cover from the parking lot of a local business and flee in his vehicle. Police located the suspect, who was arrested and released on a promise to attend court at a future date. Suspect later replaced the manhole cover. Case still under investigation.

- January 8, 3:13 p.m., 200-block of 55th Street: Late report received of theft from locked garage. Suspects smashed rear door, causing $100 in damage. Items stolen included garden and carpenter tools. Police canvassed neighbourhood with negative results.

- January 8, 3:55 a.m., 57th Street and Ladner Trunk Road: Police responded to a report of a verbal argument. The young adults had dispersed before police arrival.
