Tsawwassen
*July 18, Unit Block of 66A Street: Complainant reported that a $339 online order was reported by the shipping company to have been delivered and signed for at their residence. However, the parcel was not received. The delivery company requested a police report and a file number in order to process a refund.
*July 19, HQ 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they received a fraudulent call claiming to be their bank. The incident was reported to their phone provider and the police. No personal or banking information was provided to the caller. The complainant was advised to report the incident to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
*July 20, 200 Block of Centennial Parkway: A report received from complainant that they had left their unlocked bike for a couple of hours at the beach access point and when they returned the bike was missing. The bicycle, valued at $800, is described as a grey Trek with front suspension, front and back carriers, and a yellow bell attachment. A witness observed two females near the beach access loading a bike into a white vehicle.
*July 22, 5500 Block of 9th Avenue: Complainant reported that they had left their unlocked scooter in front of the main entrance of the aquatic centre and when they returned the scooter was gone. Staff at the centre confirmed that security video revealed the time of theft and provided the images of two males committing the theft. Photos of the suspects to be disseminated for possible identification.
*July 23, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported that a suspect had removed tags from clothing and left the premises without paying. Police attended and located the suspect in the food court where they had passed the property to another suspect. Items from several business were seized and returned to the businesses. Both suspects were arrested, chartered, and released on a promise to appear in court at a future date and were a banned from the shopping mall.
*July 24, HQ 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: A report was received that two males had not returned after over an hour of rafting off Centennial Beach. Police notified the Coast Guard, search and rescue, and Point Roberts Fire Department. Police attended the area and spotted the boys 500 meters off shore. The Point Roberts law enforcement boat was in the area and brought the boys to safety. The boys were warned of the dangers associated to rafting with a less than sea-worthy boat and no life jackets.
Ladner
*July 19, 4800 Block of Linden Drive: Complainant reported their home had been broken into while they were absent for approximately three hours. It is believed the suspects entered the premises through an unlocked patio door. Police identification team to attend and process the scene. The value of items stolen are unknown at this time.
*July 23, 5200 Block of 48th Avenue: Complainant left their bike unlocked outside a business while they ran in to grab a flyer. When they returned the bike, valued at $1,700, was gone. The bike is described as a black electric with a red basket containing a computer on the back. Area patrol proved to be negative.
*July 24, 5700 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Police stopped a vehicle with a burnt out tail light. The driver indicated they had just left their friend’s poker night. The driver provided a breath sample which read “warn” but declined to provide a second sample. As a result they were given an immediate roadside suspension and a ticket for driving without a tail light. The vehicle was impounded and the driver left by Uber.
*July 24, 4900 Block of Westminster Avenue: A vehicle, with a temporary license, was stopped after it ran a stop sign. Following the detection of the odor of liquor on the breath of the driver, two breath samples were provided with both reading “fail.” The driver was issued a 90-day driving suspension, 30-day vehicle suspension, and a ticket for disobeying a stop sign. The vehicle was impounded and the driver left the scene by taxi.
*July 24, 5100 Block of Central Avenue: Police received a report that three teenagers were running around on the roof of the elementary school. Police attended and located the teenagers one of whom was stuck in a tree. The teenager was rescued from the tree by police. All the teenagers were remorseful and released on agreeing they would not repeat their actions.
*July 25, 50th Avenue and Linden Drive: Police observed a vehicle leaving the pub and conducted a traffic stop to check the driver’s sobriety. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol and provided a breath sample which indicated a rating that was not allowed by their license restriction as an “N” driver. The driver was advised they were prohibited from driving, their license seized, a 12-hour license suspension, and given a ticket for disobeying license restrictions. The driver was picked up by a family member.
