Tsawwassen
*Jan. 5, 1600 Block of 56th Street: Complainant reported they left their vehicle parked overnight and when they returned in the morning the vehicle started with a very loud noise. A mechanic inspected the vehicle and found the catalytic converter cut out and stolen. Police attended and finding no video surveillance, recommended to the complainant the installation of a dash cam with impact/motion sensors.
*Jan. 5, 800 Block of 53A Street: Complainant reported they parked their vehicle in front of their residence and when they returned in the morning they found the vehicle making a loud noise and took it to the dealership to investigate. The complainant was advised the catalytic converter had been stolen. Police investigation to continue, pending video surveillance from a neighbour.
*Jan. 5, HQ 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported they had received a call from a person claiming to be Visa security based in Toronto and they were investigating fraudulent activity in the complainant’s account. The complainant withdraw a large sum of funds as requested from their chequing account and then deposited the funds in bitcoins to Visa security as requested. Information for Canadian Aniti-Fraud Centre provided to the complainant. The incident is under investigation by police.
*Jan. 5, 1700 Block of Duncan Drive: Complainant reported the catalytic converter had been stolen from their vehicle sometime overnight. Police canvassed the area, but no surveillance video or witnesses located. Patrols of the area to be conducted by police.
*Jan. 5, 5300 Block of 8A Avenue: Complainant reported a neighbour had witnessed a group of youth take an Amazon package from their porch. The neighbour followed the youth to the park and witnessed them open the package and drop the contents before fleeing the area. Contents retrieved and returned to the complainant.
*Jan. 6, 1700 Block of Duncan Drive: A report received from complainant that they had heard a drilling sound outside their residence and when they went outside to investigate they found the catalytic converter missing from their vehicle. Approximate damage to the vehicle $5,000. Extensive patrols of the area proved negative.
*Jan. 6, 1600 Block of Enderby Avenue: Complainant reported that sometime overnight, the catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle parked in the driveway. No surveillance video available. Complainant provided with a file number for insurance purposes.
*Jan. 6, Unit Block of 66th Street: Complainant reported the theft of the catalytic converter from their vehicle parked in front of their residence. Surveillance video indicated the theft occurred at 1:48 am by what appeared to be a light coloured SUV. A file number provided for insurance purposes.
*Jan. 8, 5600 Block of 12th Avenue: A business reported a vehicle had been stolen sometime in the afternoon. The vehicle had been brought in for repair and keys to the vehicle left in the mailbox. Extensive patrols of the area by police proved negative. The vehicle added to the Canadian Police Information Centre as stolen.

*Jan. 3, HQ 4455 Clarence Taylor Way: Complainant reported they had lost more than $300,000 as a result of fraud. They had researched a company in Switzerland and initiated the investment. They had missed the red flags and warnings from the legitimate companies that converted their money into bitcoin highlighting the company as fraudulent. The complainant is aware that crypto currency is encrypted and the chances of recovery of the funds is very slim. Police advised the complainant to contact the Canadian Fraud Agency, banking institutes, and to change passwords on their computer and other devices.
*Jan. 4, Highway 17 and Highway 99: During a traffic patrol police, commercial enforcement observed a vehicle travelling at a speed of 135 km/h in an 80 km/h zone. The vehicle was stopped and the driver issued a ticket for travelling at an excessive speed. The vehicle was impounded for seven days.
*Jan. 4, 5500 block of Grove Road: Police responded to a collision between two cars travelling in opposite directions on Grove Road and resulted in one of the cars rolling over. A third car that was parked/unoccupied was also struck during the collision. One driver was transported to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries. The two occupants of the other car were uninjured. Total damage was estimated at approximately $35,000 between the three vehicles. Alcohol and speed are believed not to be a factor in this collision. One driver appeared to be startled by movement observed, resulting in a swerve to avoid something, contributing to the collision.
*Jan. 5, 7700 Block of Beedie Way: While working in the area a complainant observed, via surveillance video, two males enter a parking lot, jack up the complainant’s car and attempt to remove the catalytic converter. The complainant activated their panic alarm and the males fled the area.
*Jan. 6, 6300 Block of 45A Avenue: Complainant reported that sometime overnight the catalytic converter was stolen from their vehicle parked in their driveway. Approximate damage to the vehicle is $2,000. Theft still under investigation pending the results of finger/hand prints taken by identification services.
*Jan. 7, 4400 Block of Dawn Place: A report received from complainant that the catalytic converter had been stolen sometime overnight from their vehicle parked in front of their residence. The converter is valued at $1,500. Still under investigation, pending the receipt of surveillance video from a neighbour.
*Jan. 8, 4800 Block of Elliott Street: A business reported a male concealed a bottle of vodka in his jacket and left the store without payment. Police patrolled the area but with negative results. Surveillance video images of the suspect distributed for possible identification.
