April 24, 1400 Block of View Crescent: Complainant reported their vehicle left in the underground parking lot was broken into sometime overnight. The driver’s side window was smashed but the complainant was unsure if any items were stolen. The police provided the complainant with a file number for an ICBC claim. No video/witnesses.

April 25, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported that two males selected several items and left the store without payment. Police attended and located the males in the mall. The two were arrested and a search revealed several items stolen from other businesses. The two were charged with theft under $5,000 and released on undertakings compelling court appearance, and a condition of no-go to the mall.

April 25, 5600 Block of 16th Avenue: Complainant reported their vehicle parked in front of their residence was broken into sometime overnight. No damage to the vehicle as the complainant believes the vehicle was left unlocked. Items stolen include a “man bag” containing personal cards, bank cards, and $100 in cash. Police advised the complainant to contact their bank, ICBC, Equifax and TransUnion to avoid the possibility of future fraud due to the loss of personal information.

April 27, 900 Block of 50th Street: Complainant reported their vehicle parked in front of their residence had the rear driver’s side window broken. Police attended and observed the damage to the vehicle. Several items of value including a laptop computer inside the vehicle left by the suspects. Police canvass of the neighbourhood for surveillance video proved negative. 

April 27, 4900 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported the theft of Dyson products valued at $600. The store believes this suspect stole Mower batteries valued at $1,200 the week prior. The items were in a locked cabinet and the business believes the suspect has a key as there was no damage to the cabinet. The store provided the police with still photographs of the suspects, which will be disseminated for possible identification.

April 28, 1700 Block of 56th Street: Complainant reported their vehicle left in the underground parking lot at their residence had the driver’s side window broken and a pair of sunglasses stolen. The complainant also reported their neighbour’s vehicle’s side rear window was also broken. The neighbour indicated two sets of electrical screwdrivers valued at $1,000 were stolen. Canvass by police for surveillance video proved negative.

April 28, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A business reported a female entered the store with a child’s black stroller and selected several items of children’s clothing valued at $150 and left the store without payment. Police attended and were provided with the description of the suspect, but patrol of the area was negative. A still photograph of the suspect to be disseminated for possible identification.

April 26, 4800 Block of Elliott Street: A business reported a male had purchased two Honda Generators for $6,578. As the chip on the Visa card was not accepted, the numbers were entered manually by the clerk. Visa informed the business that the card was fraudulent, and the funds were charged back to the business. An investigation by police found the fraudulent Visa to be connected to a file in another jurisdiction. 

April 26, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Police received a text message from a person pretending to be from job website “Indeed” for a work-at-home job opportunity. Police engaged the suspects who presented an employment scam known to police to extract thousands of dollars from victims. All service providers of the text message informed of the fraud. Payments to the fraudsters traced to numerous potential victims who have deposited funds in crypto currency. The bank exchanges have been advised of the scam and provided information re potential victims and requested the accounts be frozen and to reach out to the clients.

April 26, 5300 Block of 44th Avenue: A church reported sometime overnight that graffiti tags had been painted on the building resulting in $500 worth of repainting. Surveillance video to be examined for possible identification of a suspect.

April 27, 4600 Block of Clarence Taylor Crescent: Several bank and personal cards found near the Ladner bus exchange. An attempt by the police to contact the owner proved negative. The cards have been lodged at headquarters. The owner can claim on identification.

April 28, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported to headquarters the catalytic converter stolen sometime in the evening from their vehicle parked in the driveway of their residence. Canvass of neighbours for surveillance video proved negative.
