This is definitely the weekend to do some spring cleaning as Delta's annual Spring Clean-Up is set for next week.
Once a year, the municipality waives its normal garbage volume limits and allows residents to dispose of bulky items not ordinarily picked up with the weekly garbage and recycling.
Spring Clean-Up takes place Monday in Tsawwassen and Tuesday in Ladner.
Accepted items include furniture, miscellaneous household goods that have been bagged or bundled and scrap metal for recycling, including dishwashers, stoves, washing machines, dryers, hot water tanks, barbecues, metal lawn furniture and bicycles. These items must be separated from other items and will be picked up separately after the non-recyclable items.
Small appliances will not be picked up during Spring Clean-Up this year as many are now recyclable through a new provincial program.
