Candy Cane Lane in Ladner is always a must-see during the holiday season.
The residents on 55A Street go all out and Christmas light displays have become a beloved tradition on this street during the holiday season.
Bon & Joyce D'Souza live at 4673 55A Street.
They told us that their inspiration is their love of Christmas and the joy and smiles the lights and decor bring to little kids and to our neighborhood.
“It's a perfect spot for a nice evening stroll enjoying some hot chocolate or perhaps capturing some family photos,” said Joyce. “It takes a few weeks of planning and effort to get all the lights up. We have over 10,000 lights now and keep adding a little more every year.
“The lights are synchronized to Christmas music and a few additions this year are the shimmering curtain lights, inflatables, reindeers, elves and stars which are used to symbolize the Star of Bethlehem that led the three wisemen to the manger where Jesus was born. These shimmering beacons of illumination have long been a symbol of hope, joy, and enlightenment.
“In conclusion, all the efforts that we put in makes it worth our while for all the Christmas cheer it creates on Candy Cane Lane.”
