If you’re of a certain vintage, you may have checked out professional wrestling matches in the gymnasiums of Delta high schools during the 1960s and 70s.
One of the previews in the Optimist in January 1970 was a card at the Delta Secondary gym featuring, among others, Bulldog Bob Brown.
A former policeman, Brown wrestled all over North America including Stampede Wrestling.
He also worked for the local NWA All Star Wrestling circuit from the late 1960s to mid-70s and also the early 1980s.
He was a “face” but also a “heel” during his long career in which he wrestled with and against greats including Gene Kiniski.
Brown was retired by 1997 when he died of a heart attack. He was 58-years-old.
