The Canadian Blood Services has activated its Blood Signal to signify a greater need for blood heading into the summer months.
The blood drop-shaped icon, intended to convey the idea of giving blood at times of the year when the need is greatest, has been activated for the period of June 3 to 16.
Residents of Ladner can help out by giving blood at a community donor clinic during this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ladner Elementary, 5016-44 Ave.
Ladner donors who give blood Saturday are eligible to give again in August.
