The following are some of the calls of interest the Delta police responded to in the South Delta area between Wednesday, Jan. 2 and Sunday, Jan. 6:
Tsawwassen
. January 3, 3: 37 a.m., 1200-block of Pacific Drive: Police investigated a report that a vehicle had driven through the back fence of a residence. A suspect was located next to a vehicle that had crashed through the guardrail and into the backyard. The driver displayed signs of intoxication and was arrested for impaired driving. The suspect refused to provide a breath sample and was transported to police headquarters where he was issued a 24-hour roadside suspension, his driver's licence seized and his vehicle impounded. The suspect was released on a promise to appear in court at a future date.
. January 4, 4: 25 p.m., 600-block of Milsom Wynd: Complainant reported that sometime overnight her Christmas lights were damaged and ripped from the bushes. No suspects or witnesses.
. January 4, 5: 46 p.m., 5000-block of 12th Avenue: A report was received that suspects had broken several wooden panels on the complainant's fence sometime during New Year's Eve.
. January 5, 7 a.m., 300-block of 52nd Street: Complainant reported that sometime overnight the front of his house had been egged and that this was an ongoing problem in his neighbourhood.
. January 5, 10: 23 p.m., 5000-block of 1st Avenue: Police responded to a report that the complainant was holding two youths who were part of a group trespassing through his yard.
The youths were counselled by police as to their error in judgment. Both apologized and were then sent on their way.
Ladner
. January 2, 7: 43 a.m., 7000-block of Honeyman Street: Report received of a break and entry occurring sometime during the past three days. Suspects entered premises by cutting fence, causing $500 damage. Copper wire was stolen from two containers. Bolt cutters located under a small bush. No witnesses or video surveillance.
. January 2, 10: 51 a.m., 7000-block of Progress Way: Suspects entered compound of businesses by climbing fence and attempted to steal gas from vehicle. Theft not successful as vehicle was equipped with an anti-siphoning device.
. January 5, 5: 06 p.m., 4800-block of River Road: Complainant reported he had been a victim of identity fraud. A person unknown to the complainant had purchased and used two airline tickets through Air Canada on his credit card. Fraud claim filed through Amex.
. January 6, 10: 41 a.m., 4700-block of 45A Avenue: Suspects smeared a fried egg and drew a happy face with mustard on the windshield of the complainant's wife's vehicle. No suspects or witnesses. A similar incident occurred four weeks earlier but not reported to police.
