A pair of Delta Footmen teams reached the podium at the 12th annual Richmond Romp Field Lacrosse Tournament held over the Remembrance Day Weekend.
The U13-2 Footmen completed a perfect six game run with a 15-4 victory against Kamloops in the gold medal game to capture their division.
Delta opened with a 9-2 win over New West and just kept on rolling from there with victories against Kelowna (15-2), Chilliwack (12-8) and Pac Rim (15-2) to complete round-robin play. A rematch with Chilliwack resulted in a 10-7 semi-final triumph.
Coached by Mike Miele, Jacob Steele, Arjan Sighn and Scott Posterski, U13-2 Footmen’s roster features: Milo Brown, Jordan Dhanda, Cypress Fiessel, Wyatt Fiessel, Hayden Gardner, Eric Haydon, Sam Jackman, Jaxxon Lawrence, Carter Lawton, Lauren Leong, Linden McLeod, Doug Miele, Kinsely Mullis, Liam Posterski, Doyle Raines, Gurmukh Singh, Macklin Smith, Hilton Stewart, Riley Tan, Conover Van Iperen.
The U11 tier 1 Footmen secured silver thanks winning four games, including a 14-3 semi-final triumph over Pac Rim in the semi-finals. The team's only losses came to unbeaten Langley. Other victories came against Nanaimo (11-8), Chilliwack (11-2) and an earlier 14-7 victory over Pac Rim.
Earning game MVP awards were Shane Walters, Owen Delmaire, Blake Beaudry, Calum Taverner, Carter Stock and Hudson Clement.
Also coming up big for the Footmen were Isabella Posterski, Billy Miele, Brennen Carrol, Evan Siemens, Evan Chatha, Jace Powel, Maddison Reynolds, Jackson Parsons, Reid O’Toole, Shane Walters, Trevor Wilson and Ziggy Brown. The team is coached by Andy Walters and Sean Stock.
The teams now turn their attention back to regular season play in the Pacific Coast Field Lacrosse League.
