Isabella Burtini has just finished off an impressive campaign with the University of Calgary Dinos women’s soccer team.

The South Delta Secondary grad registered seven goals and seven assists for the Dinos and was named to the 2024 Canada West all-rookie team in her freshman season.

The Dinos compiled an overall record of 16-4-1 including 11-2-1 in conference play.

In the Canada West playoffs, she scored the lone goal in a 1-0 quarter-final win over UBC Okanagan.

That win moved the Dinos onto the semifinal where they dropped a 1-0 decision to Victoria.

The loss dropped them into the bronze medal game where they lost 3-2 to Trinity Western to end their season.

Burtini scored the opening first half goal for the Dinos in the 13th minute as a cross from teammate Grace Moore found the foot of the mid-fielder, who launched a shot into the top right-hand corner of the Spartans net.

Trinity Western scored the next two, only to see Calgary tie the score at 2-2.

The Spartans scored the game winner late in the second half.

“”I thought we were consistent, and I think we showed that in playoffs as well,” said Dinos head coach Diogo Rapso. “We just need to ensure that when we get to these moments, we stay within ourselves and find ways to win, not just play good football.”
