The Delta Pacers swim team capped an outstanding season by placing third among 115 schools at the provincial championships in Richmond.

Pacer pride was prominent among the 38 swimmers on the team and there were many outstanding performances. On the girls' side of the meet, Delta finished second overall, just 22 points back of York House. Highlights included four medals and a provincial meet record.

The girls 200 metre medley relay team, featuring Madison Milford, Kiana Beaton, Alyssa von Ende and Sidney Peake, won gold in a record time of 2: 04.13, eclipsing the old mark set back in 2006. Milford, Peake and von Ende then teamed with Nicole Currie to capture gold in the 200 metre freestyle relay.

Milford added her third medal of the championships when she joined Beaton, Gabe Lee and Robby Arundel to earn bronze in the 200 metre mixed medley relay.

Peake turned in the highest individual performance by a Pacer swimmer with a third place swim in the 50 metre freestyle. Milford and Peake nearly reached the podium one more time, settling for fourth place in the 100 metre backstroke and freestyle events respectively. The 400 metre freestyle summer division relay team of Holly Denham, Sophie Ferguson, Anneka Hunchak and Hannah Gerrard also was fourth.

Gabe Lee produced more points for the Pacers with a fifth place finish in the 100 metre butterfly and a sixth in the 100 metre freestyle. The relay team of Francine de Lotbiniere-Bassett, Brittany Mageau, Beaton and Currie took eighth place in the 400 metre freestyle relay.

The program's success would not have been possible without the efforts of student coaches, led by head coach Francine de Lotbiniere-Bassett and her assistants Emily Ferguson, Alex Gaio, Sarah Gerrard, Jeremy Grey, Bobby Hider and Alyssia Hunchak. A special thanks also goes to Pacer parent sponsor Willy Arundel
