The B.C. Lions aren't the only football team with a big playoff game in Sunday.

The South Delta Rams' Junior Bantam and Atom division teams remain in the Vancouver Mainland Football League championship hunt after huge wins last weekend.

The Junior Bantam Rams traveled New Westminster where they came through with a 30-24 upset victory over the Royal City Hyacks. It was the Hyacks first loss of the season after going 9-0 in league play then blasting the Richmond Raiders 48-8 in the quarter-finals.

South Delta, 7-2 finishers in league action, had advanced to the final four with a 24-8 home field win over the Coquitlam Vikings.

The locals will now meet the Coquitlam Raiders in the championship game, slated for 12: 30 p.m. at Minoru Park in Richmond. The Raiders advanced to the final with a 2824 win over the Langley Wranglers, ending their perfect season.

Meanwhile the sixth place Atom Rams were also busy playing spoilers last Sunday, rolling to a decisive 48-20 road victory over the third place Richmond Raiders.

The locals will now meet the first place Cloverdale Panthers, looking to secure a berth in the championship game, slated for Nov. 27.

Getting their first taste of post-season action will be the South Delta Bantam Rams who open the provincial playoffs against the Victoria Spartans. The game will take place immediately following the junior bantam contest at Minoru Park, with kickoff slated for 2: 30 p.m.
