RunInn marathon groups busy in events in B.C. and California

The past two weeks have been a busy time for the RunInn Delta Marathon groups with over 60 runners competing in the Victoria, Kelowna, Napa Valley and San Francisco Marathon and Half Marathons.

The past two weeks have been a busy time for the RunInn Delta Marathon groups with over 60 runners competing in the Victoria, Kelowna, Napa Valley and San Francisco Marathon and Half Marathons.

On Thanksgiving Weekend, over 40 runners entered the Royal Victoria Marathon and Half Marathon on a beautiful sunny day. Meanwhile, Natassja Dutka participated in the Kelowna Marathon and recorded a great time of 3: 57: 06.

This past weekend, Trina Ridley, Dalyce Wickett and Ingrid Barnes completed the challenging San Francisco Half Marathon in two hours and 10 minutes. On a hilly course with over 22,000 other runners, they all managed to finish in the top 10 percent of their age groups.

At the same time, across the bridge at the Napa Valley Half Marathon, Nancy Friesen finished fourth in her age group, while her son and former Delta Ice Hawk standout Jackson Friesen placed fifth in his age group with a terrific time of 1: 36 .

RunInn employee Bobbie Brown was first in her age group with a time of 1: 44. Also competing in Napa were Alex and Karen Libonati and Ruth Scowcroft of Albany Books.

The season will wind up with Delta Sports Hall of Fame golfer Tracey Derrheim and Johann Steinmann competing in the prestigious New York Marathon on Nov. 6.
