Nathan MacPherson-Ridgewell is taking his career to the Western Hockey League.
The 17-year-old forward from Tsawwassen has signed a standard WHL player agreement with the Kamloops Blazers. MacPherson-Ridgewell was initially listed by the club back in March 2020. He came through the South Delta Minor Hockey Association before shifting to the Delta Hockey Academy where he last played for the DHA U18 Prep team in a COVID-19 shortened 2020-21 campaign.
“Nathan has made good strides in his game,” said Blazers Director of Player Personnel, Robbie Sandland. “From the start of camp, he has continued to get better every day. He plays a heavy, straight line game and has great energy. He is consistently in the fabric of the game and he is not easy to play against.
“We are excited to welcome Nathan and his family to the Blazers organization.”
MacPherson-Ridgewell made his debut over the weekend in a pair of pre-season. The Blazer open their regular season schedule on Oct. 2 in Prince George.
