The U8 Delta #1 Footmen field lacrosse team continued its steady progress with a strong showing on the road against New West #1 in recent Pacific Coast League action.

The Footmen played a solid first half but were down by a handful of goals. They were reminded by the coaching staff that the point of the game was to work hard and have fun. They went back onto the field for the second half and amazed everyone as they battled back and gave New West a run for its money.

The locals did not gain the lead but they tried their best and came off the field with bright smiles and a sense of accomplishment. They have a lot to be proud of.

What's even more amazing is half of the Delta roster is under the age of six yet the boys showed no fear against their older and bigger opponents.

The team looks forward to the rest of the season and improving each week, proving those lopsided losses back at the start of the campaign are nothing more than a distant memory.
