Wolves win playoff banner

The South Delta Bantam "C" Wolves had a successful end to their hockey season by winning the playoff banner in their division with a 5-0-0 record.

The South Delta Bantam "C" Wolves had a successful end to their hockey season by winning the playoff banner in their division with a 5-0-0 record.

The final game had an added twist with the arena being evacuated as a result of a fire alarm with 3: 30 remaining in the third period. The game resumed and although the Surrey Sharks put up a competitive fight, the Wolves won the banner with a 5-4 victory.

The team had a successful season focused on skill development and teamwork. A disciplined approach resulted in a ranking of fifth lowest, out of 40 teams in Fraser Valley West, for penalty minutes.

The team consisted of: Kieran Tan (C), Matthew Berends (A), Max Youngsen (A), Carson Hale (A), Joel Bourque (goaltender), Wes Haklander, Adam Husdon, Cory McIver, Liam McKinnon, Kyle Moorehead, Graham Peachey, Ryan Pugh, Liam Swayze and Jamil Walji.

Head coach Brent Bourque was assisted by Bernie Berends and Doug McIver, while the team was managed by Selinda Tan.
