Another business-related scam is making the rounds in South Delta.
Earlier this week a resident posted on Facebook that she received call that according to her call display, indicated it was Huff Animal Hospital.
It was a recorded message saying the residents’ credit was bad and that she needed to call them as soon as possible.
The resident called the animal hospital to let them know to report it.
Delta police public affairs coordinator Cris Leykauf said the resident did the right thing reporting the incident to the business as well as police.
“We have done stories on Facebook before about how scammers can ‘spoof’ other phone numbers to make it look like they are calling from Delta police or any business or agency,” Leykauf said. “There are a number of apps out there that scammers use to make it seem like the call is coming from a certain number. Residents just have to be aware.”
