Dear editor:
It was 8:15 am on Saturday Nov. 14 and I arrived at the range at Tsawwassen Springs Golf Course. All the covered bays (still outdoors) were full except for the second last one.
The range mats are roughly 7.5 - 8ft apart and I have validated that with the folks at the clubhouse that they comply with the COVID-19 protocols announced by the Provincial Health Officer. I proceeded to empty my bucket of balls at the stall and an older man (wasn’t wearing a mask) tells me that he does not feel comfortable with me this close. This was outdoors, there’s roof but it is outdoors. I told him that the mats are 7.5-8 feet apart, if he did not feel comfortable, he could move to the outdoors mats (they were wet from the day before).
He moved to the outdoor area and it so happens that when there was no one else left at the golf range, he walked over and started yelling at me that “It is because of you people that the second wave has gotten out of control" and then he spent next four minutes spewing out vile stuff.
This is the first time I've experience anything like this in Tsawwassen. I know these are trying times and that are “older” entitled folks in Tsawwassen, but this is not how we treat each other. If you do not agree with someone or their background, it does not mean you judge/berate them. Let us be civil!!!
