One of the conditions of final approval is an alternative means of highway access or cash-in-lieu for improvements to provide highway access for properties affected by the proposed road closure and cancellation.

Regarding the recent story about a development project in Ladner – it is not just Eastlink, which uses the lane as mentioned in your story.

People like me who live in neighbouring houses also use the lane and grassy area to access the Ladner Christian School and the shopping areas.

There appears to be no provision for a pass through from 54th to Ladner Trunk Road. Very inconvenient.
