Letters: Embarrassed to see the flag this way

It is both a disgrace and an embarrassment, especially to those of us who are veterans
Canada Flag

Editor:

As surely as September year by year brings cooling temperatures and return to school, it includes the fading and fraying of the Canadian flag at the downtown Ladner Post office.

This has become a regular fall occurrence.

One would think the staff would know about this recurring pattern with their flag. Frayed and tearing again as Remembrance Day approaches.

Yet not just on Remembrance Day but every day if the Post Office is going to fly our Canadian flag, please have a sense of pride and care in what you run up your flag pole.

I gave up some years ago trying to speak with someone so every year I write you through the Optimist to encourage you to have some pride in our Country’s flag.

It is both a disgrace and an embarrassment, especially to those of us who are veterans.
