Editor:

On several occasions, South Delta Meals on Wheels has made an appeal to the public for financial support.

The result of that appeal has been incredible. The funds received allowed us to continue to serve a daily hot meal to some of the most vulnerable in our community.

This time, however, our appeal is different. It is not money we seek, but additional drivers to deliver meals. If for any reason any one of our current drivers is unable to continue, we are in deep trouble because we currently have no one that can step in to fill that void.

This means our operation will grind to a halt, and our customer-base will be without their regular hot meal for an indefinite period.

Drivers are reimbursed for all mileage during deliveries.

If you wish to volunteer, please contact us at 604-948-4869.
