From River Road overpass to new tunnel (Optimist, Aug. 15) I find Rob Flemings comments about additional funding for the overpass needing to come from the Federal Government ignorant and insulting.
Not having a second exit from Ladner is not just inconvenient but it is also a safety issue. Can you imagine if Ladner needed to evacuate its residents due to earthquake, flooding, tsunami or fire?
It is Mr. Flemings own government that has mandated Ladner to change its community plan which allows almost unfettered growth so this is a ‘your government’ problem and they should buck up the extra cash to build the overpass.
