On behalf of the Royal Canadian Legion Delta Branch 61, we extend our deepest appreciation to the overall community for their support during this year’s poppy campaign.
We are ever so thankful to the volunteers who gave us a few hours of their valued time.
They covered 470 hours at our local businesses. Thank you to the Optimist for their online story, Ladner Loop & Ladner’s Landing for allowing Margaret Reid and Peggy Boon post to help cover some of these hours.
We had the assistance of our three cadet squadrons, 828 Tsawwassen, 819 and 1867 North Delta, the Delta School District, Love of Art, Delta firefighters and the 252 store merchants who allowed our donation trays in their stores.
Without these dedicated individuals we would not have the funds to give back to the community. We monitor the community and in particular our veterans and their families who may require assistance.
Remembrance Day that follows our poppy campaign is always a highlight. It was wonderful to see the thousands of residents watching the parade of marching supporters, veterans, Delta Police Pipe Band and attending the ceremony at the cenotaph.
We are so indebted to everyone in their support for the Royal Canadian Legion Delta Branch 61.
