Letters: Winskill plan has many flaws

Should the existing plan go ahead, I will decide to be vocal about council come the municipal election in 2026

Council asked for community feedback, and it was provided. I also submitted my opinions, but we are just being ignored.

We don’t want the plan that council decided to implement. We don’t want the council members who chose to ignore the citizens response to the plan.

We want a park. We want improvement and modernization of the recreation centre.

We want recreation for all including young families, mature adults, seniors, handicapped, children, pets etc. A place to gather, to stroll, to exercise, to enjoy the beautiful climate that Tsawwassen offers. There are many types of recreation and baseball is already represented fully in Tsawwassen.

What I would like to see is a pavilion. A place for musicians to play a little jazz. Some picnic tables for gatherings of local groups. An outdoor gym, perhaps rock climbing? A new disc golf course which encourages all ages to participate. A well-designed walking path for all and one which encourages interaction with kids.

Did council and the city think of any of this?

Should the existing plan go ahead, I will decide to be vocal about council come the municipal election in 2026.
