New Rolls Royce, BMW dealership with office space proposed for prominent Kitsilano intersection

Along with the dealership, there will be office space, light industrial room, and more than 300 parking stalls.

A new luxury vehicle dealership is being proposed for next door to a recently built luxury vehicle dealership.

A proposal for a six -torey mixed-used building at 2040 Burrard St/1755 W 5th Ave has been submitted to the city; currently, that's the home of the BMW Store.

BMW owns the Rolls Royce and Mini brands and the new proposal includes an upgraded, two-storey dealership, along with separate office and light industrial spaces.

"In keeping with similar retail uses in the immediate context, the proposed project will combine office and industrial space uses on the upper floors with the new BMW, Mini, Motorad, and Rolls Royce dealerships at the ground floor level," states the proposal.

Recently a Jaguar and Land Rover dealership opened up on the adjacent property at the intersection of West 4th Avenue and Burrard. And further north on Burrard there are dealerships for brands like Aston Martin, Ferrari, and Audi.

While the car dealership may be the most prominent tenant of the building, there will be light industrial space (which is rare in Kitsilano) and office space for several tenants on the top three floors.

A roof patio and outdoor amenity space are planned as well, offering views of the city and North Shore Mountains.

Three levels of underground parking are also planned, with more than 300 stalls; the proposal does not state whether the parking will be open to the general public looking to shop along West 4th in Kitsilano, the office and light industrial tenants, or for the car dealership.
