A sponsored Syrian refugee family of five (mother, father and three young children), currently living in Jordan, is awaiting final approval for immigration to Canada.

They will be welcomed as newcomers to Tsawwassen soon. This sponsorship will reunite two families, as the father’s sister and her family are in the Lower Mainland. The sister and her husband came to Ladner as refugees in 2016.

The family is sponsored and supported by Benediction Lutheran & Tsawwassen United churches. The sponsorship is facilitated by Canadian Lutheran World Relief (CLWR) and was accepted by Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) in March 2022.

The family completed all the necessary steps in April 2024 and is now awaiting final approval to come to Canada. All donations will be collected to support this young family with the basics of living as they settle into their new home.

Donations, volunteers and prayers are greatly appreciated.
