Do you have clean unused or gently used Halloween costumes you’d like to donate?

Bring them to the George Mackie Library on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 2 to 4 p.m., or to the Tsawwassen Library on Tuesday, Oct. 8, from 2 to 4 p.m. and swap with other families. Please note: you will have to take home any items left at the end of the day home with you.

This October, get crafty and decorate a pumpkin into your favourite book character for Ladner Pioneer Library’s Halloween Pumpkin Design Contest.

Mini pumpkins will be provided. Your challenge is to transform your pumpkin into a book character! Pick up pumpkins at the Ladner Pioneer Library from Oct. 1 to 12. Submissions will be accepted between Oct. 15 to 31. Completed pumpkins will be placed on display for everyone to enjoy and vote on their favorite design from Oct. 15 to 31.

Create a haunting three-dimensional scene using an assortment of supplies (and surprises) provided by the Tsawwassen Library.

Pick up the package beginning Tuesday, Oct. 1. Submission deadline is Thursday, Oct. 17. Library customers will vote, and the winners will be announced on Thursday, Oct. 31. Prizes for all participants. This is for ages 12 and over.

The Ladner Pioneer Library starts the Halloween season early with a two-part crafting program for kids and teens ages 10 and up. Register then join staff for Air Dry Clay Ghosts on Fridays, Oct. 4 and 11, from 3:15 to 4 p.m.
