The Ladner Lawn Bowling Club opens its new season with an open house on Sunday, April 24.

The Ladner Lawn Bowling Club looks forward to a “normal” active season following a reduced schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The club opens its season next Sunday, April 24 with an open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. All are welcome to attend to get an introduction to the game of lawn bowling.

The game of bowls is a game for young and old, men or women, as all are on equal terms in this game. The club emphasizes casual recreational play on a drop-in basis. Come out and enjoy the great outdoors, meet others that enjoy being active and make new friends. Since there is an artificial surface, there is the opportunity to bowl year-round.

If you are looking for more competitive bowling, the club holds weekly aggregates, in-house tournaments as well as tournaments with other clubs. There are also tournaments at other clubs in the Greater Vancouver area and out of town that members can sign up for.

The Ladner clubhouse has a large meeting room, kitchen, and lockers providing an excellent venue for the many club activities.

If you are a beginner, the club has coaches that can provide lessons and will continue to work with you to develop your game so that you can quickly join in the fun. The club can supply you the bowls for the first year. Just come in flat soled shoes - no heels, no deep treads.

The club is located at 5128 47 Ave. across the street from McKee House.
