Ladner United Church will be hosting Let It Shine!, a fundraising concert to benefit the church's youth group.

Set for Saturday, Feb. 18 at 2 p.m., the concert will feature the combined choirs of Ladner United and Tsawwassen United along with Tracy Neff, David Tuck and other outstanding musicians.

Ladner United's youth group continues to prepare for its Solas project, which will see members run a week-long program for primary school children on the Isles of Iona and Mull, Scotland, this July.

Through a friend in the Ladner United congregation, Rev. Linda Pollock, minister of Church of Scotland congregations on Mull and Iona, invited the Ladner youth to help her revive ministry for children by creating an experience of Christian community.

Solas, a Gaelic word meaning "comfort, joy or light," was chosen by the youth to express their aim of sharing and receiving the light of God revealed through Jesus in responding to Pollock's invitation.

Admission is by donation at the door. Tickets are available at the church's office, 4960-48th Ave., from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday to Friday.
