The Delta Museum and Archives Society will be offering historical cruises along the Fraser River this weekend.

Sailings will leave the wharf at the foot of Ladner's Elliott Street at 10 a.m. on both Saturday and Sunday, returning at 3 p.m.

Hop aboard and discover the rich and fascinating history of Delta and the Fraser River from a new perspective, while enjoying a five hour, fully-narrated scenic cruise.

While meandering along the mouth of the mighty Fraser, the rich history of the river and its shorelines will be shared. From the fishing camps of the First Nations people to the European settlers that came in pursuit of gold, the Fraser has a diverse and multicultural story.

This year's cruises will explore North Delta's history, including Gunderson Slough, Annieville, River Road, Kennedy Trail and many other historic sites.

Tickets are $45 per person and can be purchased at the Delta Museum (4858 Delta St., Ladner) or by calling 604-946-9322. Preregistration and pre-payment are required.

Participants are encouraged to pack a bagged lunch and dress for the weather as cruises take place rain or shine (boats are covered).
