Sands Secondary students are trying to do their part to help the environment.
A student club at the school will soon be collecting electronic or IT material to be refurbished through the Electronic Recycling Association of Canada, then those old electronic devices or equipment are turned into newer ones for charity and individuals in need.
The first drop-off event will be at the Sands Secondary parking lot (10840 82 Ave., in North Delta) on June 19 and 20 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Additional drop-off events will be held July 10, 11 and 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and July 12 to 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Accepted items include: laptops/computers (MAC and PC), docking stations, parts (motherboards, hard drives), keyboards, mice, wires and cables, gaming consoles, IPods, IPads, MP3 players, stereo equipment, printers, fax machines, scanners and copiers, mobile phones, tablets, CB/DVDs, servers, software, switches and routers, lab equipment and disk arrays.
