Santa to stop at Cammidge House

Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to the Cammidge House next weekend.

Santa Claus will be making his annual visit to the Cammidge House next weekend.

Santa's volunteers have been busy decking out the almost century-old heritage home in Boundary Bay Regional Park in all its festive finery to welcome Santa as its special guest between 1 and 3 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2.

Children will have the opportunity to present their lists or whisper their wishes in St. Nick's ear as the Christmas season is launched in South Delta.

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be happy to pose for pictures with the children, however parents are reminded to bring their own camera to record the occasion.

The event is free although a donation box is available for those so inclined.

Each child will be given a goodie bag provided with the support of local merchants.

There will also be a free raffle for door prizes of a gingerbread house and three little Christmas trees. Refreshments will be available for adults.

"Santa was very concerned years ago when he heard that local children often had to travel too far afield to meet him," said Ursula Easterbrook, chairman of the Cammidge House Volunteer Committee.

"When one of his elves contacted us to see if we could arrange for him to visit Cammidge House so that more local children had the opportunity to meet Santa and share their Christmas wish list with him, we were delighted to help and have done so annually."
