If you want to learn some interesting tidbits about North Delta history, there’s still room in the city’s Heritage Week Scavenger Hunt, set for Sunday, Sept. 17.
Eight spots are currently available for the hunt, which follows a format that’s similar to the Amazing Race TV show.
After booking space online, each group composed of two to six participants, will drive to various locations on an adventure map that’s provided. Teams then will be given either a detour or a roadblock-style activity to complete at each location.
After each activity is completed, participants get the next clue.
The hunt is a good way to experience Delta’s diverse history and to learn about the local landscapes.
There’s also a Scavenger Hunt for South Delta. That’s set for Sept. 24, from noon to 4 p.m. Although the city’s website says the event is full, there are still some spots available for that time as well.
Once people register online, more details will be sent to them via email.
Meet-up place for the start of the Scavenger Hunts is the Douglas J. Husband Discovery Centre, near city hall in Ladner. The events are free.
