Talent abounds in Tsawwassen and three Rotary scholarship winners will head off to university destined to change the world.
Behind every amazing student is a family that helps them reach the summit. This year the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen is featuring its scholarship winners with their families.
Nicola Bancroft is the winner of the prestigious William Kushnir scholarship.
Bancroft balanced academics, sports -- competing in field hockey and volleyball -- and volunteer leadership during her high school years at SDSS, excelling in all areas.
She earned a double Dogwood diploma graduating in the French immersion program and will be heading to UBC to study math and sciences with a focus on cellular, anatomical and physiological sciences. Shehas her eye on medical school.
Janeva Shahi is the winner of the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen scholarship.
Shahi has done it all: Principal’s List, Honour Roll, G-Club, Government of Canada Service recognition, along with athletic achievements for soccer. She is graduating from SDSS with a double Dogwood in French immersion.
In the fall, Shahi will be attending McGill University and plans to pursue her interests in health sciences and humanities, studying them concurrently, in both English and French. She hopes to work as a population health analyst for the United Nations and continue to pursue humanitarian work.
Jade Ridgewell is the winner of the Rotary Club of Tsawwassen scholarship.
Ridgewell is both a scholar and an athlete who graduated from SDSS on the Principal’s List, Honour Roll and G Club. She received an athletic and academic scholarship to Trinity Western University.
She is planning to pursue a degree in business and design and will be playing on Trinity Western’s women’s varsity hockey team.
