Your chance to step inside the life and work of renowned artist, inventor, and innovator Leonardo Da Vinci is this summer, when a new immersive exhibition launches in Metro Vancouver.

Called the Da Vinci Experience, the "sensory exhibit" will make its Canadian debut in June, opening to the public for a run at Tsawwassen Mills in South Delta.

Curated by Dr. Roberta Barsanti, director of Italy's Leonardian Museum in Vinci, the Da Vinci experience will occupy a 4,000-square-foot space at the mall and allow visitors to walk through a room outfitted with 360-degree projections of the artist and inventor's works.

Guests can also check out a Virtual Reality experience "inside" Da Vinci's studio.

"The Da Vinci Experience is much more than a visual walk-through - it is a sensory journey, complete with replicas of the unique inventions and machines he created, reproduced based on the artist’s original drawings," explains a media release for the event.

The event was first produced in Florence, Italy by Crossmedia Group, who have done multiple immersive artist exhibits including shows featuring Magritte, Klimt, and Van Gogh.

Vancouverites are currently enjoying a run of an immersive Van Gogh experience that launched this spring downtown at the Convention Centre; while that is a different production company, the spirit of the show is similar to this upcoming Da Vinci exhibition.
