A rollover crash in Richmond Thursday evening ended with a taupe VW resting on its roof.
Dave Stevenson came upon the flipped over hatchback on Garden City Road near Jones Road around 6 p.m., and shared photos on social media.
“(My reaction) mostly was ‘how did they manage to do that?’” he told the Richmond News.
The vehicle ended up on the sidewalk, beside a hedge.
Richmond Fire-Rescue personnel can be seen responding to the crash, and an ambulance was also on scene. Shannon Miller, spokesperson for BC Emergency Health Services, said it was a single-vehicle incident and the patient refused transport to hospital.
Stevenson said it’s common for vehicles to “zip by (that intersection) at well-over the posted speed limit.” But he saw this flipped vehicle after the fact, so he doesn’t know if speed contributed here.
