Delta raises fire hazard rating to moderate

With the weather heating up, so is the risk for wildfires. Just after noon on Tuesday, the City of Delta raised the fire hazard rating to moderate within Delta.

With the weather heating up, so is the risk for wildfires.

Just after noon on Tuesday, the City of Delta raised the fire hazard rating to moderate within Delta.

The public is also encouraged to take note of Delta’s fire danger ratings and regulations during the summer months.

The public is reminded to:

  • Call 9-1-1 to report any fires
  • All residential backyard fires, campfires and open cooking fires (except in approved briquette and propane barbecues) remain banned year-round in all areas of Delta
  • Use caution when smoking. Cigarettes and matches should be extinguished before disposal and placed in a metal or glass receptacle
  • Smoking is prohibited at all Delta parks and open spaces.
