Let’s head back to April 1970 when a modern new medical building opened its doors on Ladner Trunk Road.
The clinic was “one of the most functional and at the same time attractive-appearing medical centres in the Lower Mainland.”
The frame-type construction and 7,500-foot dimensions were designed and built Wolf Engineering and Construction of Surrey.
The $750,000 project included a $250,000 investment made by the doctors.
The centre contained accommodations for four medical doctors as well as a self-contained dentist office.
Space was also provided for an optometrist, a complete X-ray department and lab facilities.
The building would end up housing a variety of different businesses throughout its life and for some years was the office of the Delta Optimist newspaper.
A condo complex now occupies the site.
