This photo shows a rooming house on Delta Street which was also rented out to various families, formerly the home of the Calvert family.
In 1902 the Calvert family moved to Delta where Edward Theodore Calvert became agent for the Great Northern Railway.
He then started his own business in Ladner.
In 1914, he was appointed the first customs agent at the new Boundary Bay customs office at the corner of 56 Street and 12 Avenue.
He patrolled the international boundary and adjacent areas, and at the time of his death in 1940 was the chief customs-excise examiner for Boundary Bay.
