The city has issued a notice that the final lift of new pavement along 52 Street in Tsawwassen, from 12 Avenue to Highway 17, is scheduled for completion this Saturday, July 21, and Monday, July 23, weather permitting.
Access to driveways will be temporarily closed while the asphalt paving operations are being performed. However, these closures will be short in duration and the contractor will allow access as soon as it is safe to do so. At a minimum, single-lane alternating traffic will be maintained. During paving, it is recommended that vehicles be parked as far away from the street as possible as this will avoid the potential overspray of an oil-based product used by the contractor during paving, the city warns.
According to Delta, the 52 Street roadway and utility project is “progressing well” and final works for crosswalks and street lighting will take place at the end of this month.
