Mascot Kids is delighted to announce the release of Noah’s Universe an imaginative new children’s book by Alison Monk.
Monk lives in South Surrey, but for many years lived in Tsawwassen and taught in Ladner, and consequently knows many families and friends in the South Delta area. She retired from the Delta School District two years ago.
Noah’s Universe is tucked away in the village of Ducks Down, Noah feels lost and confused after the loss of his father, but when Noah meets Pretzel, a visitor from somewhere in the cosmos, his world changes forever. With Pretzel’s help, Noah begins to understand that his adventures are preparing him for a more important mission, one that will require even greater courage.
Noah’s Universe is a captivating work of juvenile fiction that tackles difficult subjects such as grief, complex emotions, bullying, and growing up. It’s also, however, a story of redemption, adventure, and true friendship — perfect for young people ages nine to 12 who are navigating identity and self-esteem. This is the first installment in her forthcoming Ducks Down book series.
Monk has lived and taught on three continents and in four countries. While teaching in Africa, her experiences opened her eyes to the different lives of children. Her entire career has been focused on children, which has given her a storehouse full of precious memories to inspire her writing career.
Noah’s Universe can be purchased from retail outlets such as Amazon, Chapters Indigo, and Amplify Publishing Group through the Mascot Kids imprint. It is distributed by Ingram, the American Wholesale Book Company, Baker & Taylor, Follett Library Resources, and Amplify Publishing Group.
