April 29, 1100 Block 51st Street: Complainant reported the theft of tools, golf clubs/gear, and a key fob to another vehicle from their unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence. Approximate value of stolen items $5,000.
April 30, 5500 Block 15B Avenue: Complainant reported the theft of their vehicle from the underground parking of residence. CCTV canvas by police revealed car leaving area, no suspects identified.
May 3, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant called to report they had been the victim of fraud, sending $5,000 via Bitcoin ATM to fraudsters who claimed they were from complainant’s bank. The complainant later contacted their real bank to change login information and passwords, as well as Transunion and Equifax for credit information. All information forwarded to Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre for notification.
May 3, 5000 Block Canoe Pass Way: Business reported the theft of multiple clothing items worth approximately $400. Review of CCTV footage revealed a male and female selecting and concealing items before leaving the store. CCTV footage was provided to officers for suspect identification.
Ladner
April 29, 5200 Block Ferry Road: Complainant observed two unknown suspects rummaging through their unlocked vehicle parked in front of the residence. The complainant was alerted by the doorbell camera at the front door. The suspects fled in a dark coloured SUV when spooked by a resident. Approximately $20 in change and an electric shaver stolen from vehicle, no damage to vehicle. CCTV footage of the incident was obtained for identification of suspects.
April 29, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant reported unknown person broke into residence and rummaged through some drawers before being scared off by a resident. Access to the residence may have been gained from garage door opener that was in their unlocked vehicle in the driveway. Police attended and processed the scene, CCTV canvas conducted.
April 30, 5400 Block Westminster Hwy: Complainant observed an unknown female steal a package from the front porch of their residence and leave in a red car that had been parked across the street. No license plate or CCTV footage available.
May 3, Headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Way: After conducting a credit check, a complainant reported a fraudulent loan for $11,000 in their name that was delinquent for payment since 2020 and had been sent to collections. Complainant was never notified of the incident and believes a wallet stolen from their vehicle in 2020 with personal identification may have been used for the fraudulent transaction. Advised to follow up with financial institutions and potential civil lawyer for the fraudulent debt.
