Tsawwassen
*Aug. 31, Police headquarters, 4455 Clarence Taylor Crescent: Complainant agreed to purchase two items listed on Buy and Sell for $1,000. As there was a lot of interest in the items, the buyer agreed to e-transfer $100 to the seller to hold the items. Subsequently the buyer found the transaction to be fraudulent and the seller had deleted the listing and the Facebook account. The seller has reported the fraud to the bank who will investigate the matter. Police file number provided.
*Sept. 1, 900 Block of 50B Street: Complainant reported the front driver’s side tire of their vehicle had been slashed the previous evening. Police attended and a canvass of the neighbourhood for surveillance video proved negative. File number provided for insurance purposes.
*Sept. 1, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: Complainant reported that someone had attempted to gain access to their vehicle left in the mall parking lot. Police attended and observed damage consistent with an attempted pry. Mall security confirmed there is no surveillance video. Police provided the complainant with tips for parking near surveillance video.
*Sept. 3, Unit Block of Georgia Wynd: Complainant reported they had left their front garage doors open while they were doing yard work at the back of their residence. In the morning they found several items valued at $2,500 including power tools, golf clubs, and hockey sticks had been stolen from the garage. Police canvass of the neighbourhood for surveillance video yielded no results.
*Sept. 3, 5000 Block of Canoe Pass Way: A store employee reported when they returned from a bathroom break they found several items missing from an open display. Surveillance video revealed two males inside the store splitting up and while one distracts an employee the other male empties several items valued at $2,600 from the display into a bag. Photographs obtained from mall surveillance video to be disseminated for possible identification of the suspects.
*Sept. 3, 1200 Block of Beach Grove Court: A report received of several youth spray painting in the park. Police attended and located the youth who had been spray painting their T-shirts for the first day of school. No offence. Complainant updated with the findings.
Ladner
*Aug. 31, 5500 Block of Admiral Way: Complainant reported their Amazon package valued at $31 had been stolen from their townhouse. Surveillance video revealed the suspect as a Caucasian male, 35 years old, athletic build, wearing a pink shirt, blue jeans, grey runners, and black and white hat. A navy blue VW hatchback with rims is associated with the suspect. Photographs of the suspect uploaded to police files.
*Aug. 31, 5200 Block of Ladner Trunk Road: Complainant reported the theft of their bicycle described as blue with black lettering and valued at $700. Surveillance video shows a Caucasian male, 55 years of age, and shoulder length grey hair riding away on the bike. Video footage obtained not suitable for identifying the suspect.
*Sept. 1, 5500 Block of Admiral Way: Complainant reported a package containing a printer ink cartridge and a tire shine kit with a total value of $80 stolen from the front porch. Still pictures of the suspect captured and disseminated for possible identification but with negative results. File concluded pending further evidence.
*Sept. 1, 5700 Block of Admiral Lane: Complainant reported two young males were on the bridge behind their residence fly fishing and blocking the use of the bridge. Police attended and advised the two of the “no fishing” sign and explained that it is private property. The two were cooperative and moved along. Complainant advised of the outcome.
*Sept. 1, 5600 Block of 51st Avenue: Complainant reported a group of teens were in the park deploying fireworks at people near the park. Police attended the scene and while several of the suspects fled the scene, police were able to give several of the youth who were in front of the elementary school a verbal warning and explained the consequences if a fire started. The youth were cooperative and left the area. Police notified the complainant of the outcome and requested a call back if the youth returned.
*Sept. 2, Beedie Way & Huston Road: Complainant reported duck hunters shooting from the river. Police attended, but observed no signs of hunters. The complainant advised there were no hunters and also informed that Sept. 2 is opening day for water fowl hunting in the area and is now legal.
